Neurosurgery meeting and teaching in Kathmandu 2019

After we completed our stay in the Maldives, the “team” flew to Kathmandu and immediately after landing, Dr. Chua, Dr. Farrokh and myself began a series of lectures during the Nepal Neurosurgical Spine Conference held at the historic Hotel Shankar. We next did rounds at TUTH with Dr. Amit Pradhanang. We met our surgical patient for the following day in the O.T. She had Potts spine and was paraparetic for nine months (see prep spinal deformity x-ray below). We proceeded with decompression and fusion with excellent post-op results (see x-ray below). Within one week she was able to walk again.
